Prepping the Studio Space

As Uni is closed due to the pandemic, I decided to create a photographic space in my son's empty bedroom. First of all I painted it white and hung a blackout curtain over the window so the space was dark. Then I measured a grid on the ceiling for positioning the hooks for hanging things from. I bought Command Strips so that I wouldn't damage the ceiling when removing them. Once that was done, I covered the floor with 1.5m wide white cartridge paper which I also used to cover the radiator and the front of the wardrobe so the cracks between the doors weren't visible . I covered the bed with more blackout curtains and a white duvet cover. It was taking shape! I had to make little 'slippers' for the bottom of the ladders so they wouldn't rip the paper. Here are some of the first shots from the space.
