The work for the knitted elements of the installation began on the Dubied V machines belonging to the University of Huddersfield.  Due to the lockdown and closure of University facilities, the work moved to hand knit with giant wooden needles made from broom handles. Stainless steel wire was chosen because of its sheen and sparkle. It also holds its form well and creates sharp shadows.
